L'Oréal Paris sought to spotlight Wawa Gatheru, founder of Black Girl Environmentalist, as one of their 2024 Women of Worth honorees. The goal was to craft a compelling visual narrative that celebrated her impact, inspired others, and reinforced L’Oréal Paris’ commitment to empowering changemakers.

Working closely with our partners at Hometeam, we developed a cinematic approach to bring Wawa’s story to life. Our all-female crew captured intimate interviews, dynamic visuals of her work in action, and moments that showcased her passion for environmental justice. Every frame was designed to reflect both her personal journey and the larger movement she leads.

The final piece became a powerful tribute to Wawa’s mission, amplifying her work to a national audience. Featured across L’Oréal Paris’ platforms, the film helped drive awareness, engagement, and support for Black Girl Environmentalist. Wawa’s recognition as a Women of Worth honoree not only elevated her cause but also reinforced L’Oréal’s legacy of celebrating women making a difference.
